I’ve always enjoyed the thrill of traveling on trams gliding over cobblestone streets, passing among the generations of aged buildings that comprise European cities.

Trams are a great way to familiarize myself with the layout of a city, take in the charms of continental urban life, and simply explore a new old place.

In October 2016, I made this Lumix LX7 view from the windows of an articulated tram navigating central Prague, Czech Republic.

My compact Lumix was an excellent tool for making urban images. It was unobtrusive, easy to handle, and capable of producing high-quality RAW digital photos.

Today, these old files offer new windows on past travels because I can better interpret the data they captured using modern software. In this case, I converted my RW2 RAW file to DNG format while correcting lens defects and improving sharpness and clarity.
