It was a hazy sunny August morning when I exposed this trailing view of a Conrail coal train east of Bennington Curve on the famous former Pennsylvania Railroad grade between Altoona and Gallitzin.
Tracking the Light is on Autopilot while Brian is traveling.
This photograph is stunning as I feel it philosophically expresses a lot of things, the coal which was the bread of Norfolk and Western; Altoona, which was where the legendary PRR’s Juniata is situated as well as its famous lines and then the journey of Conrail into its new owner(s) 10 years later. Bravo once again, its the Journey of History charmingly reflected in a photograph combining all my favorite railroads in the year of my birth.
Nothing could be greater than this Brian. Thanks again!

Beautiful, and it captures the spirit of the Standard Railroad which recently celebrated its birthday under its able successor, the Norfolk Southern. Bravo!
I can almost hear ’em growling! Great shot Brian.
