Amherst Railway Society‘s Big Railroad Hobby Show show is pure sensory overload. Everywhere you look there’s something or someone that seizes your interest. An old friend, an F-unit, a trolley buzzing underwire, video of a steam locomotive, the sounds of trains.
I exposed several hundred photos in a few hours, but after a while my mind began to numb. Railways of all kinds in all directions.
I guess it was a good show!

a 1971 GMC New Look coach originally built for the SF Muni. It came up to the show courtesy of the Classic Bus Operators Association out of NYC area

The vintage fishbowl bus was driven up from New York City with a group of bus drivers and their friends. These folks come up to Seashore at least once a year.
As one of the guys said to me at the show, “we roll with the bus”.

I wandered by your table a couple of times, but you must have been perusing the show. Yes, the Martins Creek Viaduct is on the DL&W, but it is on the Summit cutoff, not the ‘Lackawanna Cutoff’. Martins Creek is located railroad timetable west (compass north) of Scranton. It is west (north) of the even larger ‘Tunkhannock Creek viaduct’ at Nicholson, PA.

A question: isn’t the Martin’s Creek Viaduct part of the ex-DL&W “Lackawanna Cutoff” project of the early 1900s?
