During a visit to Hungary In July 2007, I used my Contax G2 rangefinder to expose this Fujichrome color slide of the Budapest Metro.
I’ve adjusted the exposure, color balance and contrast using Lightroom to improve the presention here.
Generally speaking, I’ve found that the versatility and sensativity of modern digital sensors do a better job of rendering the lighting conditions available in subways than was possible with film. But since, the few photos I have of Budapest transit were all exposed on film, I’ll need to make due with what I have!

The Hungarian capital has a wonderfully complex transit system mixing heavy railways, with metro lines, funicular railways, urban street trams, and interurban trams.
On a visit in July 2007, I exposed this Fujichrome of a route 49 tram passing below a MAV (Hungarian state railways) arched bridge.
It was extraordinarily warm that day.
This was one of the last rolls I exposed using my Contax G2 rangefinder. Not long after returning to Dublin, the camera developed a serious fault and I stopped using it.
