Here we have General Motors ad on a Streetcar. You have Toyotas in America, so why not a GM car in Japan?

Just to make things interesting, I made this photo on Kodachrome!

  1. Not that unusual that a rubber tired vehicle would be advertised on a streetcar. Advertising is advertising. Most persons who are not historians have never heard of the NATIONAL CITY LINES debacle. Ronald Reagan publicly endorsed having dinner in the Union Pacific DOMELINER, then turned around and attempted to shut down Amtrak’s dining car operations.
Being a wise politician, he knew that people have short memories, and are quick to forget.

I had a ’96 Saturn SL2 4-door and it was a good car that even had the original exhaust system when I sold it with 120,000 miles on the clock. Being a Saturn owner I got interested in the company history and did some research. Saturn had been set up by mother GM as a n independent subsidiary, not a division like Chevy, Pontiac etc. One of the goals of Saturn was to develop a product that could be successfully marketed overseas and here is proof that they tried.
