One Lens Two Views—Amtrak 642

As previously presented on Tracking the Light, Amtrak ACS-64 No. 642 is dressed in a special paint livery honoring American veterans.

Amtrak Keystone 658 was due.

I didn’t realize that No. 642 was leading the train until it came into view.

After exposing my planned long-telephoto image to make the most of the evening glint, I quickly adjusted the lens from 200mm to 70mm and panned with the locomotive to take advantage of the distinctive paint scheme. As the train passed, I received a salute from the head end.
