It is a cool, and aptly named northern New Hampshire village.
Stark. Literally and figuratively. And when I say cool, I’m being ironic.
It was cold.
The old Grand Trunk Railway runs through Stark on the north side of the Ammonmoosuc. Today, this is Genesee & Wyoming’s St. Lawrence & Atlantic.
Trains, when these pass, typically pass in the wee hours.
Very wee.
There’s also an auld bridge here. And a wee church.
A feeling of minimalistic surrealism permeates the frosty landscape.
I made these views on a Stark visit with Kris Sabbatino over the weekend.
All images were exposed using my Nikon Z6, and processed in Adobe Lightroom.
