There’s nothing like the first day.
Train rides were FREE.
Yesterday, June 16, 2018 the long awaited CT Rail Hartford Line Commuter service commenced.
My father and I traveled on the first train from Berlin, Connecticut to Springfield, Massachusetts. It was a bright clear morning.
Contrast was a challenge, and for some of these photos I imported the camera RAW image into Light Room for exposure, color balance and exposure adjustment.

I cannot claim to be an expert on these models, but they are third party rebuilds of EMD GP40/GP38s with aftermarket add ons. According to the Diesel Shop CDOT Roster these are now classified as GP40-2H and were rebuilt/remanufactured by AMF. See: https://www.thedieselshop.us/CONNDOT.HTML

What class of loco is on that train? t’s an EMD (4-axle) with flared radiators a la SD45? Is it a production model or a DIY?
