Yesterday, a tragic railway accident thrust Hoboken Terminal into the news.
Since then, I’ve had many requests from Tracking the Light viewers regarding NJ Transit’s Hoboken Terminal—a station that I’ve featured on several occasions.

My definition would be where the walk from train to boat is more or less “cross-platform” in rail terms.
Ostend perhaps? Although its a bit of a walk from the station to the water.
Just looked at your link to Hoboken, and I think it may be not only the last great American waterfront terminal, but the last and greatest anywhere in the world. Direct rail to water transfers are a dying breed, and few of the former many such locations survive in Britain and there are essentially now none in Ireland, with the arguable exception of Rosslare.
Wales has Fishguard, still with day and night connections to the Rosslare boats, England has Portsmouth and Ryde, and Scotland has Wemyss Bay and Gourock, and on a quick count that’s about it.
An interesting subject for further research.
