{"id":9962,"date":"2015-02-17T02:34:53","date_gmt":"2015-02-17T07:34:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/briansolomon.com\/trackingthelight\/?p=9962"},"modified":"2015-02-17T07:52:28","modified_gmt":"2015-02-17T12:52:28","slug":"chicago-transit-authority-trolley-and-substation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/briansolomon.com\/trackingthelight\/chicago-transit-authority-trolley-and-substation\/","title":{"rendered":"Chicago Transit Authority Trolley and Substation."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently I read a definition of photographic composition that said something to the effect of; \u2018making order out of chaos.\u2019 In railway photography, wires pose special compositional problems, and can lend for chaotic images if not handled carefully.<\/p>\n<p>In this photo I exposed at the Illinois Railway Museum, a virtual sea of wires lace the sky and visually surround the streetcar.<\/p>\n<p>As visual elements, wires typically appear as dark lines and unless they are carefully placed, they can disrupt a photograph by dividing up the frame and causing unwanted distractions. No wires, no go.<\/p>\n<p>Yet, I\u2019m not entirely satisfied with the image.
