I was hoping to again catch Amtrak trains passing at Christiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead, I caught trains 651 and 656 passing the old Pennsylvania Railroad station at Christiana a few minutes apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I see these aged trains, I recall the old Metroliner<\/em>, which I experienced in its early days as America’s super fast New York to Washington service. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an era when American railroading seemed to be on the verge of extinction, the Metroliner<\/em> offered another vision\u2014one of speed and hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soon these former Metroliner cab cars will join the old Metroliner<\/em> as memories of another era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
