In December 1990, I made this Kodachrome 25 photograph looking west on Taraval Street in San Francisco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A pair of Boeing-Vertol LRVs working the L-Taraval route had stopped for passengers, which allowed for me to make a slow speed exposure with the camera on a Bogen 3021 trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

December offers good weather to get clear evening views looking out over the Pacific ocean. By using a 200mm telephoto lens, I compressed the effect of all the telephone and electrical wires crossing the street. I’ve always found that the proliferation of above-ground wires and cables in San Francisco was one of the fascinating visual characteristics of the city, and that these offered great compositional elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
