Back in the 1950s and early 1960s, my father had made many images of the South Shore, and I was always fond of the line, despite having missed its operation of antique multiple units and Little Joe electrics that had made the line popular with photographers.<\/p>\n
<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-attachment-id=\"3554\" data-permalink=\"http:\/\/briansolomon.com\/trackingthelight\/south-shore-sunset-october-1994\/csssb_near_south_bend_oct_1994_brian-solomon-088572\/\" data-orig-file=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/briansolomon.com\/trackingthelight\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/CSSSB_near_South_Bend_Oct_1994_Brian-Solomon-088572.jpg?fit=1024%2C643\" data-orig-size=\"1024,643\" data-comments-opened=\"1\" data-image-meta=\"{"aperture":"0","credit":"","camera":"","caption":"","created_timestamp":"0","copyright":"","focal_length":"0","iso":"0","shutter_speed":"0","title":""}\" data-image-title=\"CSS&SB_near_South_Bend_Oct_1994_Brian Solomon 088572\" data-image-description=\"<p>Chicago, South Shore & South Bend.<\/p>\n\" data-image-caption=\"<p>Caption: Outbound South Shore train at sunset near South Bend, Indiana in October 1994.
