My first photos along the Ware River Line, the former Boston & Albany operated by Massachusetts Central date from about 1981.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Thursday, Kris and I were driving south along Route 32 in Hardwick, when I heard the telltail squeal of steel wheels on steel rails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tracks were shiny at the grade crossing in Gilbertville, so I surmised that the train was southbound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We zipped ahead and set up at the grade crossing at Church Street in Ware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We didn’t wait long before Mass-Central’s southward freight came into view. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
