The \u2018Pride of Palmer\u2019 Climbs Stateline Hill.<\/p>\n

Yesterday morning, jetlag had me awake and alert considerably earlier than I\u2019m accustomed. By 7 am, I\u2019d photographed three trains on two railroads in two states and was on my way home to get some work done. Crazy thing, jetlag.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the morning\u2019s impromptu photo excursion was this image of New England Central\u2019s \u2018Pride of Palmer\u2019 (GP38 3851) climbing through Monson, Massachusetts with a short freight for Willimantic, Connecticut<\/a>. This is passing Monson\u2019s \u2018tornado alley\u2019, where, nearly two years ago a freak afternoon twister made splinters and memories of\u00a0 many fine buildings and trees.<\/p>\n
