It was cold and snowy at Dublin’s Connolly Station last Sunday.<\/p>\n

While snow complicated Railway Preservation Society of Ireland\u2019s planned trips to Maynooth, it made for ideal conditions to expose black & white photos.<\/p>\n

Using my Nikon F3 with 35mm and 135mm lens, I made these images on platform 3.<\/p>\n

My new book ‘Brian Solomon’s Railway Guide to Europe features RPSI trains in its section on Ireland.<\/p>\n

It is due out in May 2018 and may pre-order the book from Kalmbach Books:\u00a0https:\/\/kalmbachhobbystore.com<\/a><\/p>\n

All were exposed using Kodak Tri-X black & white film, which I processed in Ilford ID-11 (1-1 at 68 degrees F for 7 minutes 45 seconds, plus extended presoak with very dilute HC110 to pre-activate development.)<\/p>\n

I scanned the negatives \u00a0using an Epson V500 flatbed scanner.<\/p>\n
