At the end of the day (really!), Mike Gardner and I were waiting for Amtrak\u2019s westward Lake Shore Limited<\/em> (train 449) at the grade crossing in Westfield, Massachusetts (milepost 107).<\/p>\n

Shortly before the train came into view the sun popped out of the clouds just above the tree line and illuminated the scene with golden light.<\/p>\n

I popped off a couple of color slides and some digital images.<\/p>\n

For the digital I made a last minute exposure adjustment. I didn\u2019t have that luxury with the slides, but my film camera was set within about a half stop of the ideal exposure.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll have to wait and see if my slides are ok. Or not.<\/p>\n
