Amtrak has retired all of its once-common AEM-7 electrics.<\/p>\n

SEPTA\u2019s small fleet of AEM-7s remain on the roll, but replacements have been ordered. Soon the sun will set on America\u2019s adaptation of the Swedish Rc-series electrics.<\/p>\n

A couple of weeks ago, Pat Yough and I focused on SEPTA\u2019s rare birds that typically only work rush hour push-pull services.<\/p>\n

It was a fine bright evening to make commuter rail images and I used my FujiFilm X-T1 fitted with a 27mm pancake lens to expose these photographs.<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s relatively ordinary images of SEPTA AEM7 electrics under wire will soon be rare. Why wait to the last minute to make photographs of equipment soon to be extinct?<\/p>\n
