Last week I had a few minutes between trains, during which time\u00a0I exposed these views of the Chicago Transit Authority\u2019s famous \u2018L\u2019 at the Chicago Loop.<\/p>\n

Although it is common misconception that the \u2018loop\u2019 is so named for the circular arrangement of CTA\u2019s elevated railway downtown, the name pre-dates the \u2018L\u2019 and actually stems from Chicago\u2019s cable car days. (Chicago, rather than San Francisco, once held title to the world\u2019s most extensive cable operated streetcar network.)<\/p>\n
