This quiet overhead crossing of the quad-track is just past the 8 \u00be milepost from Dublin\u2019s Heuston Station.<\/p>\n

It offers an open view of the line with a favorable angle for down (traveling away from Dublin) trains mid-morning.<\/p>\n

These days you can often IWT boxes on the liner of the same name.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

It takes a tuned interest in Irish Rail\u2019s operations and a bit of luck.\u00a0to time\u00a0a visit to coincide with passage of the weekday IWT Liner (International Warehousing & Transport<\/a> container train between Dublin\u00a0and\u00a0Ballina) and the more elusive HOBS (high output ballast system).<\/p>\n

Getting the clouds to cooperate is trickier yet again.<\/p>\n

A couple of weeks ago Colm O\u2019Callaghan and I spent a strategic\u00a045 minutes at Stucumny Bridge.<\/p>\n

Even if you fail at catching the freight on the move, there\u2019s always a steady parade of passenger trains.<\/p>\n
