There\u2019s an attraction to old machinery. For me it\u2019s a mix of curiosity, nostalgia and the opportunity to get close and make photographs.<\/p>\n

On April 19, 2015, some friends from Cork and I arrived by road at the Durrow Vintage Show in County Laois. This was held in field on the old Dublin-Cork main road. It was warm Irish morning with the promise of lots of sun.<\/p>\n

While old cars and farm tractors represented most of the equipment on display, there were items of railway interest for the discerning eye.<\/p>\n

Using my Fuji X-T1, I exposed dozens of images. This was a perfect opportunity to put the camera through its paces. Lots of visual interest, but not a lot of pressure on the photographer.<\/p>\n
